My Observership
My passion for science and medical research lead me to become invested in the work done in the Neuro-Oncology department at Massachusetts General Hospital. With the help of a family friend, I began an observership within this department the Summer of 2016 .

The Doctors I Shadowed
Setting Up the Observership
Before beginning both my observership and my project this term, I went through an extensive background check, patient information disclosure training, as well as an online training which ensured my suitability in the hospital environment. Within the online training, a series of questions were given in a quiz format. After this, I had the observership course-form signed and submitted and I began my shadowing/work at the hospital
I shadowed Mass General's top neuro-oncologists on their in-patient rounds as well as clinic (patient appointments).
I looked at patient brain imaging in the Wet Lab Reading Room, where images were analyzed and ROI's were drawn.
I attended case presentations given by the Mass General Fellows and learned about their experiences and findings with different patients.
I sat in on lectures and brain cuttings conducted by Doctors and Medical School Professors
