Data Collection
What is the data?
Once all the images were sent in, they were run through a pipeline, a certain program which takes the characteristics of the tumors which were drawn in the ROI's, and displays their characteristics in a set of numbers. The characters which were recorded were: dissimilarity, homogeneity, correlation, and contrast.
Using the Mutation Data
The reason for gaining this mutation data is not just to see these characteristics in number form, but it is to be able to graph these characteristics of these patient's brain metastasis with their mutation rates in order to see a pattern between the characteristics and the rates. In order to do this, it required us to look back at the patients mutation rates document.
So What Now?
Now that I have collected both sets of data, my next step was to combine the two into one, organized document so that I may easily begin graphing the two, in hopes to find patterns. A column was added to the characteristic document, and I began to add the correct mutation rate next to it's mrn number.
